Considered endemic to the forests around Libreville, where it has not been recorded since 1986 by (Lachenaud et al., 2013). But treated as having a disjunct distribution in Gabon and the Ivory Coast (=Côte d'Ivoire) by (POWO, 2024). Its conservation status is thus unclear.
