IUCN RedList status: "probably now extinct"
One or more populations (of probable hybrid status) were discovered in 1995 (Juniper & Parr, 1998). The last recorded date of pure bred individuals thus seems to actually pre-date the 1990's. No records of the species were made between the late 1970's and 1986.
