Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Synonym/s: cf. Cacatua sp. (Steadman et al. 1999:2566); Cacatua aff. galerita undescribed species (Tyrberg, 2009:89)
Subfossils of Cactua sp. have been found on New Ireland which "probably represent an undescribed species or subspecies in the C. galerita species group, the description of which awaits the availability of more comparative skeletons." (Steadman et al., 1999:2566).
