This species is only known from the holotype, a male collected on the Indonesian side (Irian Jaya) of New Guinea (Kalkman, 2009).

Type locality: Central W. New Guinea, Idenburg River basin, above Bernhard Camp, ca. 400 m, "in heavy jungle far away from water" (Lieftinck, 1971).
