Synonym/s: Sminthopsis longicaudatus Spencer, 1909:449 (protonym); Sminthopsis longicaudata Spencer, 1909:449 (basionym)

 

Transferred from the original genus Sminthopsis to Antechinomys by (Westerman et al., 2023).

Rediscovered in 1976 (dead specimen); 1981 (living specimen) (Young, 1981)
