Prior to rediscovery:

"Known from four museum specimens, collected in about 1911 (one), the 1930s (two) 1972 (one), from the vicinity of Julia Creek and Richmond (Qld)." (Maxwell et al., 1996)

 

Holotype: QM J5173 (female in spirits; plus skull) (Mahoney & Ride, 1988:29)

Type locality: "Julia Creek, watershed of the Cloncurry River, N central Qld. 20°40'S, 141°40'E" (Mahoney & Ride, 1988:29)
