It is unclear if this taxon was validly published in combination with a valid description. The binomial is only used by two papers (Fall et al., 2007; Franklin & Steadman, 2008), but may be included in David Steadman's 2006 book 'Extinction and Biogeography of Tropical Pacific Birds' which I do not currently have access to.
