Before it's official rediscovery in 2008, several unconfirmed sightings had been reported but not accepted by the ornithological community: November 1984, June 1985, March 1989, 27 November 1999 and 2001 (Nash & Nash, 1985; Wison, 2004; Iqbal, 2005).
