Synonym/s: Nitella gracilis f. minispora (K.Imahori & H.Suga) R.D.Wood (1962); Nitella gracillima minispora (K.Imahori & H.Suga) J.C.van Raam (2010); Nitella procera F.S.Han & W.Q.Chen 1982 [junior homonym of Nitella procera J.H.Wallman 1853: 260]

 

Conservation Status

Extinct (Watanabe et al., 2005) or taxonomically rediscovered (viz. Guiry in Guiry & Guiry, 2019)

Last record: 27 October 1956 or later

 

Distribution

Yunnan, China & Lake Kizaki, Nagano Prefecture, Chūbu region, Honshu, Japan

 

Nitella procera F.S.Han & W.Q.Chen (junior homonym of Nitella procera J.H.Wallman) from Yunnan, China, is considered a synonym of minispora by (Guiry in Guiry & Guiry, 2019). So at least some material from Yunnan, China is referable to minispora. Depending on when it was collected, this may constitute the taxonomic rediscovery of minispora.
