Synonym/s: Calathea martinicensis Urb. in Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 15: 103 (1917)

 

Conservation Status

Extinct (Humphreys et al., 2019; Albani Rocchetti et al., 2022) or Extinct in the Wild (POWO, 2023) [by implication] (see below)

 

POWO (2023) lists the species as "Extinct", which is also used for taxa that are Extinct in the Wild, and displays a photo of a specimen in a collection in Denmark dated 19 November 2020 indicating that the species is Extinct in the wild (contra Humphreys et al., 2019; contra Albani Rocchetti et al., 2022) assuming that the identification is correct.
