Chelonoidis sp. nov. 'Barbados'
Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Synonym/s: Geochelone sp. nov. 'Barbados'
There are two undescribed Chelonoidis sp. in the Bahams region, in addition to the recently described C. alburyorum (Franz & Franz, 2009). The material reported by (Auffenberg, 1967; Ray, 1964) may refer to any one of these three taxa. More diagnostic material from each island will allow us to better determine the distributions of these taxa.
