Oligosoma gracilicorpus was considered a synonym of O. homalonotum by Chapple et al. (2009).

In addition to the holotype, Hardy (1977) collected literature records which he thought referred to O. gracilicorpus. These same records have been taken by (Bauer & Russell, 1987) to be referring to Hoplodactylus delcourti.

Hokianga district, North Island, New Zealand
