Crateromys paulus Musser & Gordon, 1981:515
Ilin Island cloudrunner, Ilin bushy-tailed cloud rat, Ilin crateromys, Ilin hairy-tailed cloud rat
Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Conservation Status
Missing
Last record: 4 April 1953
IUCN RedList status: Data Deficient
Only known from the holotype, most likely endemic to Ilin Island in the Philippines as it was bought there. But as it was not observed in the wild and is only known from the holotype, which is of unknown provenance, it may possibly inhabit nearby Minodoro Island.
Subfossil remains of this species have since been found on Illin Island, thus confirming it's former existence there (Reyes et al. 2017).
Distribution
Ilin Island, Philippines
