Synonym/s: Hakea rara (Olde & Marriott) Christenh. & Byng in Global Fl. 4: 89 (2018)

 

Conservation Status

Last wild record: 31 October 1986 (Olde & Marriott, 1993:244) or later

Rediscovered in the wild in 1994 (DEC, 2009:5)

 

The species putatively became extinct in the wild sometime following collection of the taxon on October 31, 1986 (contra DEC, 2009). However, material was growing in cultivation at the time of the species' description (Olde & Marriott, 1993:246). It was rediscovered in the wild in 1994, and has since been found at a further 5 localities (DEC, 2009).
