Patellinirmus restinctus Tendeiro, 1972

Taxonomy & Nomenclature

Synonym/s: Coloceras restinctus Tendeiro, 1972

Originally described as Patellinirmus restinctus (Tendeiro, 1972), it was transferred to the genus Coloceras by both (Palma & Barker, 1996) and (Price et al. 2003). This was disputed by (Mey, 2003) who discussed the species under Patellinirmus.

Conservation Status

Extinct

Last record: early 20th century (by implication)

It seems to have been exclusively hosted by the Norfolk Island pigeon (Hemiphaga (novaeseelandiae) spadicea) (Mey, 2003:213), which went extinct in the early 20th century (Schodde et al. 1983).
