Thomas & Cheek (2020) note that Kihansia lovettii, also only known from the Njerera Forest Reserve (Cheek, 2004 "2003"; Ndangalasi, 2021b), "has never been seen since it was first collected, despite dedicated searches over several years". Such searches would presumably have also looked for Kupea jonii.
