Possible calls of this species have been recorded post-1990 (Butchart, 2007; Dowsett-Lemaire, 2009), suggesting that the species still exists. However, no indisputable record of this species post-1955 exists.

Itombwe Mountains, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
