Rediscovered in: 1970 (specimen) (Murphy et al., 2023:16); 20X0's (recognition) (see below)

IUCN RedList status: Critically Endangered

 

Although a specimen was collected 1970 (Bos 6928) (Murphy et al., 2023:16), this appears to have only come to light in recent years, having previously been missed (Cheek & Cable, 2000; Humphreys et al., 2019; Albani Rocchetti et al., 2022).
