Erroneously listed as possibly extinct (China Plant Specialist Group, 2004)

IUCN RedList status: Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct)

 

The IUCN RedList assessment for this species stated that it is endemic to China and "thought by some to possibly even be extinct". In actuality it comprises two subspecies, the nominate and I. s. coreana (POWO, 2023), and ranges from China (Kang et al., 2005) to Korea (Takamiya, 2001) to Japan (Takamiya et al., 1994).
