Taxonomy & Nomenclature

Possibly a hybrid (I. engelmannii x melanopoda) (Hassler, 2004-2023).

 

Conservation Status

Rediscovered in 1978 (Lucas & Synge, 1978:39)

 

Shortly after the species' scientific description in 1973 (Landry & Thieret, 1973), the type locality was destroyed and the species was considered possibly extinct, but thankfully the species was rediscovered just north of there in 1978 (Lucas & Synge, 1978:39).
