Conservation Status
Rediscovered?
Long known only from the holotype collected in February 1874, and stated to have "not been observed for many decades" by (Glenny & Fife, 2005:7). But the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa has at least two specimens, collected on 9 March 1992 and 8 January 2002, and identified as such in 2010 and early 2003, respectively.
