Considered an unplaced name by (Christenhusz et al., 2013), but is valid according to POWO (POWO, 2024). It is noted by (Wilson et al., 2022) that further taxonomic work is needed to investigate its relationship to T. praestans, especially since it has precedence in virtue of being described earlier.
