"This species has not been seen for more than 90 years. It may be extinct. Asquith did not collect it during his 1994 visit. There are no records indicating it’s host plant and we are not likely to rediscover this moth again. It is currently listed as a C3 endangered status."

Midway Atoll (aka Midway Island/s), Hawaiian Islands, USA


Butler & Usinger (1963) reported this species from Laysan. Whether this record is correct or not, and if so whether it refers to a vagrant or not is not known to the author at present.


Biology & Ecology




4 syntypes (all male) are in the BMNH collection (Beccaloni et al. 2003).
