Synonym/s: Barbus compressus Boulenger, 1893:202 (junior homonym of B. compressus Day, 1869:555); Barbus compressiformis Cockerell, 1913:133 (original combination); Puntius compressiformis (Cockerell, 1913:133)


Originally described as Barbus compressus by Boulenger (1893:202), this is a junior homonym of B. compressus Day, hence the replacement name B. compressiformis by (Cockerell, 1913)
