Schistura zonata McClelland, 1839
Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Very little is known about this species. It seems not to have been collected since the original description; however cannot be sure at present. It was considered a synonym of Nemacheilus scaturigina by (Menon, 1987), but to be a valid species by (Bănărescu & Nalbant, 1995). There is thus some uncertainly regards its taxonomic validity, and this needs to be resolved for conservation reasons; whether it is worth trying to rediscover this putative species or not.
