Synonym/s: Puntius sirang (Herre, 1932)
Invalid as Puntius sirang because the genus is highly polyphyletic, it is not the type species of the genus, and it does not have close affinities with the type species (i.e. should be placed in a separate genus from the type species). Barbodes is available (Pethiyagoda et al. 2012:85).
