Taxonomy & Nomenclature

Synonym/s: Pygosteus kaibarae Tanaka, 1915 (original combination); Pungitius sinensis kaibarae (Tanaka, 1915)

 

May be a synonym of the Amur stickleback (Pungitius sinensis) (Hwang et al. 2012) or another congener (i.e. member of the same genus).
