Synonym/s: Pantanodon sp. nov. 'Manombo' [used by Loiselle et al., 2004]; Pantanodon n. sp. “manombo” [used by Sparks & Stiassny, 2003, 2008, 2022; Sparks & Smith, 2022]; Malagodon spec. ‘Manombo Reserve’ (yet undescribed) [used by Meinema & Huber, 2023]

Extinct (Carr et al., 2024)

Last record: October 1997 (Carr et al., 2024)

IUCN RedList status: Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct)

 

Although assessed as Missing by (Loiselle et al., 2004), there have been further surveys in the intervening period and the taxon is treated as Extinct following (Carr et al., 2024).
