Hendricks (2012:169) states that the "validity of all subspecies [of Cryptomastix mullani] needs to be reevaluated". While Lucid et al. (2016) caution that this subspecies is probably invalid.

Distribution
Kootenai County, Idaho, USA
Currently only known from the type locality in Kootenai County, but two morphologically similar individuals have been found elsewhere in Idaho (Lucid et al., 2016).
