Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Conservation Status
Missing
Last record: 1936
IUCN RedList status: Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct)
Shells of this species were encountered by Rebecca Rundell on Koror in April 2005, but whether they were alive when encountered or were recently/long-since dead is not explicitly stated (Rundell, 2005:13). This is in direct conflict with (Rundell, 2012) which states that the only recently found shell was dead, found on a different island, and in a different year (2003 vs. 2005) than the 2005 record. This is most likely an oversight by (Rundell, 2012), since the only other possibilities are misidentification or the invention of data, which this author deems most unlikely occurrences.
