Conservation Status
Erroneously listed as Extinct by (WCMC, 1992:218)
Treated as an Extinct Queensland endemic by (WCMC, 1992:218), the species in fact has a broad native distribution from "Central & S. Malesia to SW. Pacific" (POWO, 2025), and has been widely introduced into mainland Asia and parts of northern South American and the Caribbean (Ibid.).
