Caladenia xantholeuca D.L. Jones, 1991

Flinders Ranges spider-orchid, White rabbits, Flinders Ranges white caladenia, Flinders fingers

Taxonomy & Nomenclature

"Not seen since 1982 despite targeted searching; could be taxonomic issues based on photos - very similar to a co-occurring species."

(Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1)

Conservation Status

Rediscovered (source) or taxonomically suspect (Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1)

Last record: 1982 (Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1)

Rediscovered in 2011 (source; not recognised by Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1)

Not seen since 1982 (Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1), with a reported rediscovery of the species based upon a photograph taken by a member of the public initially confirmed by Cathy Houston and Bob Bates (source). However, Bob Bates was one of the experts later consulted by (Silcock et al., 2019:SM:1) who note "could be taxonomic issues based on photos - very similar to a co-occurring species", implying (along with their reporting of the last record as 1982) that the species was not infact rediscovered.
