Dypsis thouarsiana Baill. (1894:1163)

Taxonomy & Nomenclature

Synonym/s: Vonitra thouarsiana (Baill.) Becc. in Beibl. Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 87: 18 (1906)

"This is most likely a synonym, potentially of Vonitra fibrosa. However, the name is possibly based on collections from different species, with the type specimen containing too few features to assign it with certainty to any taxon. This vexing nomenclatural issue is described in detail in Dransfield & Beentje (1995)."
