Dypsis sahanofensis (Jum. & H.Perrier) Beentje & J.Dransf. (1995:290)

Taxonomy & Nomenclature

Synonyms: Neophloga sahanofensis Jum. & H.Perrier in Ann. Mus. Colon. Marseille, sér. 3, 1: 32 (1913); Chrysalidocarpus sahanofensis (Jum. & H.Perrier) Jum. in Ann. Mus. Colon. Marseille, sér. 3, 10(3): 6 (1922)

Conservation Status

Rediscovered [by implication] (POWO, 2024) (see below)

Historically considered extinct by at least one source (fide Humphreys et al., 2019), it was treated as a synonym by Humphreys et al. (2019) and thus not a true extinction, but as the synonymy is homotypic the taxon is still valid. POWO (2024) has a colour photograph, implying that it was rediscovered.
