Was considered Extinct in the Wild by (Dransfield & Beentje, 1995 fide Rakotoarinivo et al., 2014), but following its Rediscovery in 2003 (Humphreys et al., 2019) it was later downlisted to Critically Endangered (Rakotoarinivo et al., 2014).
