Was considered Extinct in the Wild by (Dransfield & Beentje, 1995 fide Rakotoarinivo et al., 2014), but was later downlisted to Critically Endangered (Rakotoarinivo et al., 2014), implying that the species was Rediscovered (in the wild?). Still listed as extinct by (Humphreys et al., 2019; Albani Rocchetti et al., 2022).
