Volvox perglobator J.H.Powers (1908)
Taxonomy & Nomenclature
Conservation Status
Last record: 1944 (Smith, 1944) or after 1944 (Hanschen et al., 2018a)
Rediscovered on 27 October 2012 (Hanschen et al., 2018a)
Distribution
Arizona (Reid Park, Tucson), Nebraska (Lincoln) & Massachusetts (Back Bay Fens, Boston & Woods Hole, Barnstable County), USA
Type locality: "Lincoln, Neb." (Powers, 1908:163)
Records of the species from New Zealand (Chapman et al., 1957; Broady et al., 2012) are uncertain as the species was reported as globally rediscovered by (Hanschen et al., 2018) and has been stated as being endemic to the USA more recently again (Kimbara et al., 2019).
