This taxon is only known from two paintings ([i]fide[/i] Lawrence, 2009).
The reason/s for its extinction are unknown. As it is so little known, there being no extant specimens in museums or private collections as far as is known, over collection can therefore be ruled out. However, it might actually be a synonym of the Seychellois endemic [i]Euploea mitra[/i] (Legrand, 1965).
